Meet the 2024-2025 Alumni Advisory Board

Bobby Goldwater - Alumni Advisory Board Chair, Miami, ‘74; Tenor II; Decades of work in sports and entertainment management in New York City, Los Angeles, and Washington. Currently heads the Goldwater Group, on the faculty of Georgetown University; Scott Alexander awardee in 1974

Bobby Botnick - Alumni Advisory Board Vice Chair, Miami, ‘01, Bass; former Club President Criminal defense attorney centered in Cleveland, works in Federal, State, and Municipal courts throughout northern Ohio

Chas Myers - Alumni Advisory Board Secretary, Miami ’73, Music Education, Tenor 2 Retired high school band and choir director, continues as a freelance marching band show director and judges marching band contests throughout the eastern USA. Married to a Miami Merger, Beth. Three adult sons, of which Brian ‘08 and Steve '03 are Glee Club Alums.

George Beverley - Alumni Advisory Board President emeritus, Miami ’70, Accompanist, Bass, first Scott Alexander recipient in 1969. 30 years at Lamar University, Texas, music and communication department. Retired in Oxford. The first recipient of the Kevin Kuethe Spirit of Tradition Award.

Bill Brunner - Miami, ‘12; Tenor 1; lives in Cincinnati, OH serving as the Brand Director of Cascade Dish Detergent at Procter & Gamble.

Ryan Callender - Miami, ‘95, Bass, Club President 1994-95, Miami merger with Kristin (Meyer) Callender (Choraliers), Father of Carter Callander Club President 2021-22 and Miami graduate 2023, graduate of Cleveland State University Law School, Partner at Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP practicing in public finance.

Steve Carstens - Miami BA ‘71, MS 1972, Bass, SUNY Buffalo PhD Educational Leadership. Retired university administrator, researcher, and faculty. Lives in Florida.

Matt Cramer - Miami ’14; Baritone; Past Glee Club Secretary and Vice President; Scott Alexander recipient 2014; married to a Miami Merger, Erica; lives in Indianapolis working for Cardinal Health.

Dan Bobeczko - Glee Club President,’ 92’,93, Tenor 2, graduated in 1994, Primary school educator (Hawken School), lives in University Heights, Ohio.

Lee Fisher - Advisory Board Liaison Project Manager, Miami, ‘68, Bass; former Finance Director, transportation company, retired to Oxford and currently in class at Miami; married to a Miami Merger, Rosemary.

Gary Goshorn - Alumni Advisory Board President Emeritus ‘73, Education, Social Studies Comprehension, Bass. He was an educator in Columbus Indiana for 35 years, retiring as Principal of Columbus East High School. As a Miami Alumnus, he has served on the Miami Alumni Association Board of Directors, The College of Education Dean’s Advisory Council, the Miami Men’s Glee Club Alumni Board, serving as its President, and was the 2016 recipient of the John E. Dolibois Alumni Award. His home continues to be in Columbus, Indiana.

Bob Krause - Miami ’70, Bass, former GC Vice President, second awardee of the Scott Alexander Award in 1970. CEO of Sommer Electric Corporation that designs and distributes state-of-the-art LED lighting for retailers and property developers, nationwide.

Paul Mylod - Miami ’90, Tenor 2, original Cheezies member, Admissions Representative at Full Sail University (FL), father of two adult daughters.

Brian Furnish - Miami, ‘01, Tenor II: Assistant Vice President of Advancement Administration and Chief Administrative Officer of the Miami Univeristy Foundation; GC Advisory Board Ex-officio member; married to a Miami Merger, Carrie

Jeff Wanko - Miami ‘88; Tenor II; Miami University Professor of Mathematics Education, Glee Club member for 22 semesters (as an undergraduate and as a faculty member). Scott Alexander recipient 2013.

Kyle Root - Miami, ‘21; Baritone; Past Glee Club Vice President, Alumni Coordinator, and member of The Cheezies. Currently lives in Columbus, OH with Miami Merger, Morgan; working in process improvement for Vertiv, a leading manufacturer of critical data center infrastructure.
